Mahindra the well reputed Indian Automobile Manufacturer is all prepped to make another mark. This time, it`s all about trying something not touched in Indian market before. Yes, Mahindra is coming with a MUV for 6-8 lakh. There are high chances it will be released in early 2015 but we are not sure. But hold on, before becoming a judge yourself. Just keep in mind, there`s more than meets the eye with new Mahindra Quanto AT. So what`s the catch, hold your horses because we are detailing everything below.
The outside of new Quanto AT is a bit captivating! Well we can’t argue the remarkable facets brought by Robust structure. Starting with the Front of Mahindra Quanto AT Exterior, the radiator grill which comes with fiery black shade in most variants. The body color strip is stamped with Brand Logo. This adds the bonnet with cluster and other notable features surrounding head lamp cluster and indicators. Being made halogen, this tech cleverly compliments the sleek design.
Windscreen is made wide, coming to bumper. It is equipped air intake capable of cooling off the engine swiftly. Fog lamps come from middle variants. The side profile carries well styled doors with wing mirrors. As for the mid and high trims, these carry the side step with somewhat puddle lamps. The only sad thing is only top variant are offered with alloy wheels, yes the rest variants comes with steel.
Coming to the rear profile, it’s a big catchy. The large windscreen comes with defogger. The boot lid comes with brand logo engraved on it. The modish tail light cluster which provides the overall look a trendy touch. Apart from all these features, the rear comes with roof rails in every variant.
Giving the credit to its looks, the internal section has been made spacious. Apart from that, it comes with a lot of notable features. Two seats in front, two in middle with a bench with third row features side facing jump seats. The vinyl upholstery is commendable. Cockpit houses dual tone dashboard which itself is integrated with several equipment. This ride comes with four spoke steering which is embossed with company logo. The air vents, center console and glove box are notable mentions of dashboard.
The front comes with sun visors and side vanity mirrors. As for the floor console, it comes with cubic printing which makes the Mahindra Quanto AT interior a bit modish. Speaking about the Mahindra Quanto AT Engine, one thing we like to mention in start is the AT version doesn’t see much changes apart from Auto Shift. We believe this is the reason behind extension of AT in rides name. As said before the engine is derived from existing models of Mahindra. So not much have been changed. The powerhouse is a 1.5 L Mcr100 Diesel Engine with complies with Bharat Stage IV. 3 cylinders with 12 valves, it`s based on common rail fuel supply.
With displacement of 1493 cc, this bad boy is capable of producing 100 BHP max power with 240 Nm max torque. Going into the details of Transmission, which I guess why we all are here. The transmissions is a Five Speed Auto-Shift. Furthermore, this system is controlled by advanced ECU with Hydraulic Actuation System. This system is capable of sensing the requirement of gear shifts. In order to provide better performance, this system has been tuned for fir providing better efficiency.
This became possible with the elimination of torque conversion which was implemented to save money and weight. You can choose auto and manual transmission options but I want to say this, for the price we pay, its best of both worlds.
First let`s get to mileage, the Mahindra Quanto AT Economy is expected to be better than standard version. However, no official details have been released for this matter. But in order to get an idea, we will just add that the figures of standard version. Yes the Mahindra Quanto made 17 km per gallon on highway while hitting 13 km per gallon for in city streets.
Starring with the braking system, the front axle comes with disc brakes while the rear only gets drum ones. It`s been made with dynamic and responsive elements. Apart from that, Mahindra Quanto AT is equipped with ABS and EBD. Moving from brakes, it`s time for suspension. The front comes with double wishbone with coil spring anti roll bass. As for the rear, it comes with five bar link coil springs for keeping everything well balanced. Despite all this, the electronic power steering which makes everything all the bit more sweet.
A family is nothing without some notable entertainment features. Keeping that in mind, the Mahindra Quanto AT Feature List include names of 2 Din Audio system which comes with CD, SD Card, Am/FM, USB and MP3. In order to improve your experience, there is also plenty of room left for customization. Coming off entertainment, other notable mentions are ORVM case with side indicators, the Plush seat covers with coat hanger. At this point. Making itself the Only MUV, New Mahindra Quanto AT got some real beef! But keeping the Indian market in mind. We are pretty sure this baby will face some head to head competition with Honda Jazz, Mobilio and other such bad boys. But to sum it all, Mahindra Quanto AT is impressive. Well the credit goes to its unforgiving looks and heat under the hood considering the fact it’s a family car.
