After a short haul, Hero MotoCorp surprised everyone by announcing a 250cc. All set for Hero HX250R Launch, Hero made it with EBR`s Help and used one of their own developed engines. The new design is based on Geodesic tubular frame while the engine is used as a stress member.
This bike at first was expected to be price aggressively and it could be around 1.5 lac. Well nonetheless, it will give a head to head competition to the launched to be Pulsar 200ns as it is bit more powerful and faster than it!
Well as we all suspect, Hero didn`t only unveiled Hero HX250R but one thing is for sure, HX250R stole the show. In simple words, I would describe it as a ¼L stunner which will enlighten the lightweight performance class.
It’s a sure looker and have been build designed by efforts of both Hero and their tech partners Eric Buell Racing, in addition of collaboration with AVL (Austria) Engine and Engineering. The specifications are just as dazing as its looks. This is the first inhouse 250cc of Hero and it will be in production line with no relation to Honda`s 250cc engine line.
Speaking of Honda, the most challenging Hero HX250R Competitor is no other than CBR250R itself. The good part is, Hero HX250R Performance is slightly better as this bike is capable of producing 5 more BHP while being 28KG lighter.

The Hero HX250R Design got enough features for bedazzling us. With its twin multi reflector LED headlamps, indicators, rearview mirrors, body curves, footrest and under seat exhaust, you are likely to forget about other bikes. Apart from previous, we now have geodesic tubular frame, rear step seat, self-start, crankcase ventilation and sculpted fuel tank. With all being said, It’s a stylish beast for the price you pay!
The length is 2085mm with 740mm width and 1150mm height. Total weight is 140kgs with wheelbase of 1370mm. Ground clearance of 145mm, this bike has been made for stable and bump free ride. Apart from the Dimension, Hero HX250R Ergonomics are also impressive! With a beautiful instrument panel, analog Tachometer, two digital trip meters, stand and low fuel alarm. These ergonomics also convenient.

As for the Hero HX250R Enginespecs go, we know HX250R is gettinga brand new 249cc engine with 4 stroke. The single cylinder EFI DOHC engine is liquid cooled and is capable of producing max power of 31BHP with max torque of 26 NM. This powerhouse is combined with 6 speed mesh gearbox. HX250R is combined with 81mm bore and stroke of 48.5mm with a multi plate clutch. This bike delivers top speed of 150 km/h and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Thanks to its light weight and excessive power, It will make everyone`s eye pop out!
Enough of the power, now it`s time for some control. Yes no doubt Hero HX250R Performance is quite powerful for the price you are paying. But what about control, obviously you don`t want to crash somewhere just because you lost it.
To assure your safety, the combined braking system (CBS) consists of 300mm disc with 3 piston calipers for front and at rear we have 220mm disc with single piston caliper. ABS options are also available but you need to pay extra for them! As for the suspension, we have 37mm telescopic forts for front and mono shock 5 step adjustable preload valve damping at rear.

What`s the fuss about Eco?
Hero MotoCorp limited and Honda go way back, Honda started its campaign as joint Venture with Hero back in 1984. Since then, it have played a major role in technological parts. After 26 years of history, the venture ended and both companies went their separate ways. Well, That was for the history, now let`s get back to the present. As we all know that the fight of best 250cc is at its peak and with every company pushing its limit, Hero also stepped in with the new Hero HX250R!
Why hero? I mean every other bike out there such as CBR 250R, Ninja 250 and Mojo 300 are powerful. So why we should care about Hero anymore. The Answer is, Hero realized the truth and therefore apart from power and style (offered in every other), Hero is also providing us with environment friendly bike. Hero HX250R Economy features optimized Intake and Exhaust systems of Hero deliver great power with exceptional mileage.
The drivability and emission are also notable. Superior low friction engine ensures better drain period, cold starting with a bit clean environment. The closed crankcase Ventilation system ensures there is no emission from Crankcase.
When it was first revealed, there were official confirmations that the new Hero HX250R will be made available in mid-2015. However, recently there are some statements (not sure official, leaks or just rumors) that this bike will be released in late 2014. To be honest, we are not confident about these recent updates!
Why? A few months back, there was a rumor that this bike will be released on September 14. Some other rumors updates said that release date would be 10thOctober and 9th November. Nonetheless, these rumors sure drove the bike enthusiast crazy. Well, at this point we should stick to the official statement and wait for the final product.
Speaking rhetorical, it doesn`t matter whenever this bike will be released. The important point is, will it succeed to impress the world. Well with what we`ve heard, a 250cc liquid cooled engine delivering the highest power and torque for its section. There are healthy chances that Hero will dominate the bike market with upcoming Hero HX250R. All these features and affordable price tag, one thing is for sure. Hero after all these years have learned how to make the Indian consumer happy!
